What would you do if.....
...you were robbed at gunpoint?
...a man jump out from behind a tree and pulled you by the hair into the bushes during your morning jog?
...someone held a knife to your throat?
...someone tried to choke you from behind, pick you up and throw you into the back of a van to abduct and rape you?
...you were car jacked?
...a date did not take NO for an answer?

CKM Instructor Training- Toronto
The first picture I've placed is 'The Hill'. Thursday morning, 6 of us, Shawn, Aaron, Tony, Lamont, Henry and I received knocks on our doors at 3:30am. We had coffee at 3:45 and in the car at 4, on our way to experience a 'special' workout. The special workout was created for the instructors attending and hoping to earn the Level 4 instructor certificate; Tony, Shawn, Henry and Lamont. At dinner the night before Moni informed Aaron and I that we were also selected for the 'special' workout.
It would be a long day. We began with wind sprints, single leg 'hops' around trees, burpees, squats and other drills. Then surprise attacks. It was cold and wet.
Upon completion, we collected the guns, knives and bats, put them in the equipment bag and followed Moni. We hiked and came to 'The Hill'. As we approached the base of the hill, we could see a chair lift.....not a good sign.....the 'Hill' must be steep. We rounded the base and looked up. Moni said, "12 times...you run up the hill, up on the right and down through the center. 12 times. You run or you stop. No walking. "
Hmmmmm......12 times. It didn't sound THAT bad. For the six of us, we discovered, it was bad.
However, we didn't care. Moni said, do it. We did it.
I also placed the picture of 'The Hill' first, because that is the challenge of CKM. We experienced one of the most difficult intense challenges of our lives, and when completed, we loved it, and we 'stood at the summit' of accomplishment. We are a part of a 'brotherhhod' of CKM instructors, being taught by one of the most, if not the most experienced warriors in the world. Moni Aizik.
Moni has prepared us to teach our clients the most advanced, effective reality based self defense system in the world. Yes, in the world.
Saturday's Seminar With Moni Aizik

Once again, I was honored to be able to learn from Commando Krav Maga founder and Chief Instructor, Moni Aizik. I want to thank everyone who attended. I was amazed that attendees traveled from as far as Montana to be able to train with Moni.
We have already received wonderful feed-back from some of those at the seminar.
Amy George, who attends our classes here at Mt Baker CrossFit/CKM said, "I am so happy that I attended the seminar. It was fantastic!"
I received an email from Steve Edwards in Spokane,
"Skip and Rhonda,
Just a note to thank you for putting on the seminar with Moni Aizik. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was about the best group of people one could ask for at the seminar.
With no real martial arts experience, just some boxing in my teens and 20's, I learned a lot in the 6 hours. Two of the most memorable facets learned was the heel strike to the nose as opposed to the punch with the fist and the ability to walk away if possible. There is a big instinct to want to punch the face with the intent to knock their lights out, but I definitely see the point of using the heel of the palm strike. The second point of walking away is a facet I wished I spoke up at the time as I think that could almost merit a lesson in itself. I think I could speak for most guys when someone calls you a dipstick in public there is a small button in our brain that clicks on and one becomes like a bull seeing that red cape. To walkaway if possible is a tough one.
I just wish your facility was here in Spokane so I could join. I loved the facility you have there. Considering the number of people on the floor training it was still roomy enough to allow everyone ample space.
Truly Class A operation.

Good points, Steve. In CKM, the intention in any conflict situation is is to find an honorable path towards resolution. CKM abhors fighting. Violence is the absolute last resort. CKM always gives the aggressor a chance to save face. Our bodies say "I don't want to fight!" The eyes say, "Watch out; be prepared!"
Why are you taking that stuff?
This is a question asked by the husband of one of our Commando Krav Maga students. He said, "You don't have to take that stuff. Just don't get yourself into unsafe situations. Nothing happens in Mount Vernon."
Hmmmmm...really.
Saturday-June 2nd-Skagit Valley Herald-headline:
MAN SUSPECTED IN RAPE SOUGHT-Mount-Vernon-Police are looking for a man suspected of raping a woman this morning. The man allegedly forced her into a pickup as she walked on the Old 99 bridge and took her to another location.
Did she place herself in an 'unsafe situation'? She was walking across the bridge from Mount Vernon to Burlington. Who would have thought that would be unsafe?
He offered her a ride, and she declined. Good choice. Unfortunately, he got out of his truck and forced her into it.
If this 22 year old young lady had been a student of 'this stuff'(Commando Krav Maga) she may not have gone through the terror of being kidnapped and raped. We can't imagine what went through her mind.
He is still at large, out there somewhere. Yes, right here in Skagit County. That attack was easy for him. Do you think he may try it again?
We hope not, but, WHAT IF?
